The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting First Amendment freedoms and the newsgathering rights of journalists. Since 1970, we have provided free legal resources, operated a 24/7 Legal Defense Hotline, filed amicus briefs, represented journalists pro bono, and offered media law resources. We also lead trainings and prepare future media lawyers through fellowships and internships.
