Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, preferably in mental/behavioral health
- Strong expertise in denial management, eligibility & benefits verification, and credentialing
- Knowledge of mental health billing requirements and regulations
- Experience with behavioral health CPT codes and billing modifiers
- Familiarity with mental health insurance coverage and authorizations
- Proficiency in healthcare billing software and MS Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with mental health EHR systems
- Knowledge of behavioral health billing guidelines
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools
- Ability to maintain productivity during night shift hours
Responsibilities
- Analyze and resolve claim denials specific to mental health services and treatments
- Perform detailed eligibility and benefits verification for behavioral health services
- Manage provider credentialing for mental health professionals
- Handle billing related to various mental health services including therapy sessions, psychiatric evaluations, and intensive outpatient programs
- Monitor and track denial trends specific to mental health claims
- Collaborate with insurance companies regarding mental health coverage and authorizations
- Generate and analyze reports to track key performance metrics
- Implement best practices for denial prevention in mental health billing
- Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mental health or behavioral health billing
- Knowledge of specific mental health billing regulations and compliance requirements
- Understanding of mental health parity laws
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field
