A PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field is required, along with a strong background in magnetic recording physics and device modeling. Experience with Finite Element-based micromagnetic codes and scripting languages like Python/MATLAB is preferred. Requirements

  • Ph.D. student in physics, electrical engineering or a related field
  • Strong background on magnetic recording physics and device modeling, with a particular emphasis on spin transport and micromagnetics

Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated spin-transport/micromagnetic models for performance evaluation of prospective NLSV readers
  • Establish SNR scalability with very narrow dimensions and assess technological feasibility to replace MTJ-based readers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in developing Finite Element-based micromagnetic codes
  • Good working knowledge of scripting programming languages such as Python/MATLAB
