Summary

Join Blue Acorn iCi as an AEM Component Developer! This on-site position (Overland Park, KS; Bellevue, WA; Dallas, TX; Herndon, VA; or Atlanta, GA) involves designing and developing web applications using the AEM platform. You will be responsible for creating custom components, workflows, and object models, implementing strategies, and conducting unit testing. The role requires strong Java/J2EE/JSP experience and proficiency in AEM, Sling/OSGi frameworks, and related technologies. Client-facing experience and Agile methodology knowledge are essential. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with AEM version 6.0 or above
  • Direct consulting and/or client-facing experience
  • Proficiency in the Sling or OSGi frameworks, JCR API, RESTful principles or ExtJS framework, Dispatcher or CDNs
  • Proficiency of Object-Oriented Programming Methodology & Practice, ideally with designing and programming of applications using Object Oriented Programming Methodology applying Java language constructs
  • Experience with debugging and appropriate debugging tools usage skills in general TCP/IP networking, UNIX Operating system, HTTP protocol and request processing, SMTP, etc
  • Proficiency in XML and related technologies, e.g. definition and interpretation of DTDs, supporting architectures etc., preferably also including XSLT, extended DTD know how, XML dialects such as SOAP, WML, ICE, etc
  • Administration and debugging of Web servers, e.g. Apache
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience in the development industry
  • Web portal back-end development experience
  • Strong Java/J2EE/JSP experience
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the following: JCR, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, OSGi, REST, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML, CSS

Responsibilities

  • Assist Technical Architects in AEM component design solutions
  • Develop, implement, and configure web content management solutions using AEM and technologies such as Java, HTML/DHTML, XML, JavaScript, and web services
  • Setup and configuration of AEM development environments
  • Setup and configuration of AEM Author and Publish instances and ensuring all code works in both environments
  • Setup and configuration of dispatcher or proxy to run in front of AEM
  • Translating business requirements into technical details relevant to AEM
  • Ensuring quality of code is high
  • Designing reusable AEM components for authoring content
  • Understand the client’s technical environment and how they use technology to provide the best, focused advice
  • Provide input into estimating engagement activities and execute engagements following the Agile methodology including SCRUM
  • Efficiently multi-task, working across multiple client engagements at the same time as well as key internal initiatives
  • Proactively maintain the highest level of technical expertise by staying ahead of Adobe technologies through internally and externally available learning opportunities as well as self-study
