Aem Senior Backend Developer

Summary

Join AKQA as a Senior Backend AEM Developer for a 4-month freelance contract role! This remote position, based out of our San Francisco studio, focuses on developing back-end functionality for a high-impact website project. You will be responsible for developing OSGI packages, Sling Models, and Sightly templates, as well as implementing integrated search solutions. Experience with Java, Sling, OSGi, and AEM 6.5 or higher is crucial. The role offers a competitive weekly pay rate between $3400 and $4200. No visa transfers or sponsorships are available.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Backend Developer with expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) 6.5 or higher
• Senior skills in implementing scalable solutions in AEM using Java, Sling, OSGi, and HTL
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines in Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service, AWS and Tomcat
• Hands-on experience with off-AEM search implementation (i.e. Solr, Algolia)
• Excellent technical skill, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Proven ability to balance fast-changing project requirements whilst maintaining delivery milestones
• 5+ years’ experience working as a senior developer
• Proven experience as a senior developer working on AEM 6.5, deployed through Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service
• Strong back-end skillset (Java, OSGi, Sightly templating)
• Experience with web application development
• Able to articulate their ideas to a cross-functional team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to interact professionally with a diverse group of people

Responsibilities

• Develop all back-end functionality for the AEM application, including OSGI packages, Sling Models and developing component-driven Sightly templates
• Develop SpringBoot Java applications
• Implement integrated search solutions with software such as Solr/Algolia
• Oversee the deployment of applications to Tomcat web servers on AWS
• Develop AEM back-end templates, dialogs, fragments, services and packages
• Hand off to and support front-end developers
