Summary

Join SFR3, a real estate investment fund managing $2B+ in affordable single-family homes, as a 10x Engineer. You will build software to solve critical business challenges, focusing on AI advancements and scalable backend systems. The role involves pioneering AI across the stack, architecting scalable backend systems, orchestrating complex integrations, shaping the roadmap, and continuously analyzing and optimizing. Experience in real estate is not required; however, a passion for leveraging AI and a strong background in software development are essential. The position offers the independence and responsibility of remote work.

Requirements

• Have an AI-first mindset, constantly on the lookout for ways to leverage commercially available LLMs and automation to solve real-world problems at scale. You dream about Agents and Assistants
• Strong expertise in Python
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming
• Deep knowledge of AWS and cloud-based services
• Strong product sensibilities to build experiences users love
• Working timezone overlaps at least 5 working hours with US Pacific and you love cranking late into the evening in an “always on” environment

Responsibilities

• Pioneer AI Advancements Across the Stack. Bring your passion for cutting-edge technology to supercharge development. You’ll harness modern AI tools—like large language models and automation frameworks—to rapidly prototype new features, streamline workflows, and constantly push the boundaries of what’s possible
• Architect Scalable Backend Systems. Design and build the robust, high-performance services that power our field and property management operations. You’ll integrate both in-house solutions and external platforms—whether it’s a trusted ledger service or AI-driven resource optimization—to create seamless, enterprise-level applications
• Orchestrate Complex Integrations. Connect our AI-powered services with third-party APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc.) to enhance functionality and enable smooth communication across our ecosystem of solutions
• Shape Our Roadmap and Vision. As the AI champion, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define priorities, ship features fast, and ensure we’re focusing on the highest-impact work. You’ll frequently interact with users to gather insights, refine solutions, and steer our long-term AI strategy
• Continuously Analyze and Optimize. We thrive on data-driven decisions. You’ll monitor system performance, uncover opportunities for improvement, and apply iterative enhancements that lead to tangible business value and heightened reliability
