Summary

Join nPlan's Experimental Research Department (nERD) as an AI Engineer to collaborate with a team of ML engineers, software engineers, and data scientists. This remote role, with occasional travel to London, involves building cutting-edge AI applications for the construction industry. The position offers a competitive salary (Β£70k-100k) plus equity, flexible working hours (core hours 11 am-3 pm GMT Mon-Fri), and enhanced benefits. nPlan is a fast-growing Series A startup with notable investors, focused on revolutionizing construction project management through AI-powered forecasting. You will research and prototype AI applications, build core infrastructure for LLM apps, work with other engineers and scientists to bring new models to production, and lead in implementing AI best practices across the company. The role requires experience in shipping LLM applications to production and proficiency in Python and API building.

Requirements

  • You love to build products in a fast-paced environment with a super high degree of autonomy
  • You keep up to date with the latest developments in AI and love to experiment with new models
  • You have shipped LLM applications to production
  • You have experience with LLM evaluation and the development lifecycle of LLM features
  • You are really comfortable working with Python and building APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Django

Responsibilities

  • Research and prototype new applications of AI for the construction domain, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible
  • Build core infrastructure that allows us to build LLM apps quickly - this includes observability, how we work with several LLM providers + our own fine tuned models
  • Work with ML engineers and data scientists in our research team to bring new models and applications to production
  • Be a leader in best practices and implementing AI across the whole company, keeping up to date with latest advancements and how they impact nPlan
  • Ideate and implement new features and functionality, and maintain LLM pipelines for both real time inference and development

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have experience working with Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with Go, Typescript
