AI Engineering Lead

Summary

Join Belvo, an open finance API platform, and shape our AI strategy by identifying, prioritizing, and executing high-impact AI initiatives. You will build, test, and deploy internal tools and customer-facing features using the latest AI technologies. Collaborate with various teams to discover use cases and implement intelligent systems. This role requires experience with LLM-powered systems, familiarity with AI frameworks, and solid Python engineering skills.

Requirements

• You’ve contributed to building and maintaining LLM-powered systems in production settings
• You’re comfortable working with frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI SDKs, or PydanticAI and applying them in context
• You're familiar with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its design considerations
• You integrate AI tools like agents or copilots into your workflow to improve productivity and efficiency
• You’re curious about new models and tools, and thoughtful about what’s practical for production use
• You bring solid engineering skills in Python (and ideally Django or FastAPI), and care about writing maintainable, well-tested code
• You value sharing progress early, collaborating closely with stakeholders, and view learning as an iterative process
• You bring 5+ years of experience in software engineering or building technical products
• You're fluent in English, written and spoken, and can clearly articulate technical decisions to diverse audiences

• Engage deeply with the tech: Rapidly build, test, and deploy internal tools and customer-facing features using the latest AI technologies
• Collaborate across teams: Partner with product, engineering, operations, and business teams to discover use cases and implement intelligent systems that solve real problems
• Bring ideas to life: Lead full-lifecycle development—ideation, prototyping, evaluation, iteration, deployment, and maintenance of AI services
• Embrace rapid learning and iteration: Embrace fast-paced cycles, quick experiments

Preferred Qualifications

• Have previous experience in Fintech or SaaS product environments
• Have experience building agentic systems that integrate across tools and APIs
• Have worked in fast-paced or small-team environments where ownership and adaptability are important
• Have experience designing thoughtful evaluation approaches for AI features
• Have experience working with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures or vector databases
