AI/ML Engineer

Summary

Join Prolific, a company building the human data infrastructure for AI development, as an AI/ML Engineer. You'll design and implement AI/ML systems that enhance human feedback collection, validation, and utilization, architect solutions for task routing, quality detection, and human-AI interaction optimization, and build robust, monitored systems from existing models. You'll also design and architect the AI/ML platform, implement observability systems, develop scalable training and deployment pipelines, and establish data-centric AI practices. This role requires strong AI/ML system implementation experience, expertise in modern AI/ML engineering practices and technologies, and proficiency in Python, AI/ML frameworks, and cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Strong track record implementing AI/ML systems that solved real business problems
• Skills in both building models and creating the infrastructure that supports them
• Proven expertise in modern AI/ML engineering practices and technologies, e.g. LLMOps or agentic AI
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with expertise in Python, AI/ML frameworks, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience mentoring teams and influencing AI/ML strategy
• Track record of improving AI/ML systems through better engineering practices
• Ability to balance cutting-edge approaches with production reliability
• Passion for improving how AI systems learn from and interact with humans

• Architect solutions that intelligently route tasks, detect quality issues, and optimise human-AI interactions
• Balance sophisticated technical approaches with practical business requirements
• Design and architect our AI/ML platform
• Implement AI/ML observability systems that ensure reliability and performance
• Develop reproducible training and deployment pipelines that scale with our business
• Establish data-centric AI practices that leverage our unique position in the human data ecosystem
• Drive technical standards and best practices across our AI engineering work
• Collaborate with data scientists, platform engineers, and research teams to build cohesive solutions

Experience with human-in-the-loop systems, synthetic data, or AI alignment a plus
