Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, financial crime investigations, audit, or quality assurance within the banking or financial services industry
  • SME status: Strong understanding of BSA regulations, AML laws, and KYC/CDD requirements
  • Strong analytical muscle: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and make sound recommendations
  • Devil in the details: This individual needs to be highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Communication skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely
  • Self-starter: Ability to execute in a fast-paced environment without needing meaningful oversight

Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing of customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) files to verify the accuracy and completeness of customer information and risk assessments
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of suspicious activity monitoring alerts and investigations to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Review the accuracy and completeness of regulatory filings, such as Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), to ensure they are submitted in a timely manner and meet regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with BSA/AML compliance officers, investigators, and other stakeholders to address findings, implement corrective actions, and enhance controls
  • Document quality assurance findings, observations, and recommendations in clear and concise reports for management and regulatory purposes
  • Participate in audits and regulatory examinations, and assist in the preparation of audit findings and responses
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry best practices, and emerging trends in financial crime compliance to continuously improve quality assurance processes

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM, CFE) are a plus
