Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience reviewing and revising contracts; proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, strong analytical and critical thinking skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; detail-oriented; ability to work independently; capable of professionally managing confidential information

Responsibilities

• Review professional services contracts and other project-related documentation to identify and mitigate company risk or liability
• Draft and propose alternative contract text and provide supporting commentary regarding changes
• Ability to identify, analyze, and summarize contract issues or key points to ensure company policy, laws, and regulations compliance
• Manage subcontracts, including client flow-down requirements and verification that subcontractors meet or exceed the insurance requirements of the company and client
• Support proposal activity, especially regarding contract language, compliance with insurance requirements and identify any unique issues
• Effectively communicate with internal and external clients to support negotiation of contract terms and conditions
• Track and report on the status of contract negotiations
• Other duties may be assigned as part of Benesch’s Risk Management Team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in AEC industry and design-build contracts preferred
• Paralegal certification is a plus!
