Summary
Join GoodParty.org as an Analytics Engineer and help transform data into actionable insights for candidates and internal teams. Design, build, and maintain dbt data models and data workflows using Airflow. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key metrics and ensure data accuracy. Own the entire lifecycle of analytics-ready datasets, from ingestion to documentation. Build and maintain robust testing and monitoring systems. Translate business questions into performant queries for reporting and experimentation. Maintain documentation and support data discoverability. Collaborate with a lean, agile team using CI/CD and Kanban methodologies.
Requirements
- You are fluent in SQL and experienced in writing modular, reusable dbt models to support analytics workflows
- You’re a proven A-player with 4+ years of relevant full-time work experience, ideally within a fast-paced startup environment
- You’re actively interested in using AI, LLMs, and automation of tasks through AI and have done previous work or personal projects in this area
- You are good at working with stakeholders and doing requirements gathering
- You are willing to wear multiple hats and quickly learn new skills to adapt in a fast-growing, evolving environment
- You’re able to work independently and collaborate with others when needed to iteratively solve problems in real-time
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain dbt data models that power candidate tools and internal analytics
- Develop and maintain data workflows and pipelines using Airflow to orchestrate and automate ETL patterns and other data tasks
- Collaborate across the Data, Product, and Engineering teams to define key metrics, business logic and ensure data accuracy
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics-ready datasets, from ingestion to transformation to documentation
- Build and maintain robust testing, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure data quality and pipeline reliability
- Translate business questions into performant queries and datasets for reporting and experimentation
- Maintain documentation and support data discoverability through clear definitions, testing and lineage tracking
- Collaborate with our lean, agile team using CI/CD and Kanban methodologies
- Partner with stakeholders to build trusted datasets that power dashboards, ad hoc analysis, and experimentation
- Report to directly to the Chief Technology Officer
Preferred Qualifications
- You’ve contributed to or led metrics layer design
- You have working knowledge of distributed computing with Pyspark on Databricks
- You have experience studying, working, or volunteering in politics, political activism, or democracy reform
