Summary
Join Weedmaps as an Analytics Engineer and become a key contributor to our Data organization. You will build and maintain data pipelines and analytics frameworks, collaborating with various teams to drive data-informed decisions. This role requires strong technical skills and e-commerce domain knowledge to translate business needs into scalable data solutions. You will design dbt models, implement dashboards, automate reporting, and create self-service tools. Analyzing experiment results and ensuring data quality are also key responsibilities. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of data engineering experience and 2+ years in analytics engineering, with expertise in SQL, dbt, and Python.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, or similar technical role
- 2+ years of experience in analytics engineering
- Experience with modern data warehouse platforms, preferably Snowflake
- Expertise in SQL and data modeling with dbt
- Proficiency in Python
Responsibilities
- Design fault-tolerant dbt models to synthesize data from multiple sources into mart tables
- Design and implement Tableau dashboards and Streamplit apps to provide clear insights into performance
- Automate regular reporting workflows to reduce manual effort and increase data consistency
- Create self-service tools that empower business teams to access insights independently
- Analyze experiment results to identify opportunities for improving ROI
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using SQL within modern data stack tools (Snowflake, DBT, Metaplane)
- Create and document data models that transform raw data into reliable, business-ready datasets with accompanying dictionaries and testing
- Implement data quality checks and testing frameworks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with business intelligence tools, preferably Tableau or Looker
- E-commerce or marketplace business experience preferred
- Regulated industry experience - nice to have
