Requirements
- 7+ years in data engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of people management, including hiring, coaching, and team development
- Deep expertise in modern data stack tooling (Airbyte, Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake)
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling
- Familiarity with ELT/ETL pipelines and cloud data platforms
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers
- Conduct performance reviews, career planning, and skills development
- Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows using tools such as Airbyte, Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake
- Optimize data warehouse performance, ensuring scalable, cost-effective solutions
- Develop best practices for data modeling, version control, and pipeline monitoring
- Work closely with product managers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements specific to products
- Ability to lead and guide decision making across multiple projects concurrently
- Translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring data reliability and availability
- Provide thought leadership in modern data engineering practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with additional tools like Airflow, Python, QuickSight, PowerBI or Tableau
- Experience in developing data governance frameworks
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines in a data engineering context
- Experience working in a product-based company
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product lifecycle
