Requirements

• 7+ years in data engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership role
• Proven track record of people management, including hiring, coaching, and team development
• Deep expertise in modern data stack tooling (Airbyte, Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling
• Familiarity with ELT/ETL pipelines and cloud data platforms

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers
• Conduct performance reviews, career planning, and skills development
• Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows using tools such as Airbyte, Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake
• Optimize data warehouse performance, ensuring scalable, cost-effective solutions
• Develop best practices for data modeling, version control, and pipeline monitoring
• Work closely with product managers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements specific to products
• Ability to lead and guide decision making across multiple projects concurrently
• Translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring data reliability and availability
• Provide thought leadership in modern data engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with additional tools like Airflow, Python, QuickSight, PowerBI or Tableau
• Experience in developing data governance frameworks
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines in a data engineering context
• Experience working in a product-based company
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product lifecycle
