Remote Android Engineer

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in native Android app development
• Strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin programming languages
• Experience with Android Studio, Android SDK, and third-party libraries
• Solid understanding of Android UI/UX design principles and patterns, and a strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration of backend services
• Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality, user-friendly applications to the Google Play Store

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our team of Android engineers, iOS engineers, product, design, and QA to design, develop, test and maintain our codebase with emphasis on writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Coding with Retrofit, Room, Android Architecture Components libraries, Jetpack, Espresso
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Android platform trends, libraries, and best practices to continuously improve development processes
• Contribute to the overall mobile architecture and design discussions
• Identify and address bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues within the application
• Share your thoughts on product features, the user experience, or literally anything else across the company
