App Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a skilled App Engineer and contribute to building the fastest and most intuitive shopping app using a brand-new tech stack. Work onsite in Hamburg or remotely within Germany. The Shop Applications Team continuously enhances the app, mobile website, and desktop website, serving over 8 million active users monthly. You will build and ship high-impact features, collaborate with experienced developers and designers, address technical debt, and actively participate in agile retrospectives. This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact team processes and contribute to a state-of-the-art customer-facing product.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in frontend development, ideally across multiple frameworks
• Willingness to learn Flutter
• Strong expertise in UI development and building complex frontend logic
• Deep understanding of building complex frontend logic
• You write well-structured, efficient and maintainable code and actively keep the quality of the code base in check
• You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• You are used to working in an English speaking environment

Responsibilities

• Build and ship new high impact features and improvements to the AY App using Dart and Flutter, contributing to one of the most widely-used applications built with Flutter
• Work closely together with other experienced developers, product managers, QA, and designers to ship new components and features
• Proactively identify and seek to resolve technical debt and building internal tools to enhance team productivity
• Have a direct impact on team processes by regular agile retrospectives

Preferred Qualifications

• Design awareness and ability to collaborate closely with designers
• Familiarity with gRPC and Go in a shop backend environment
• Expertise in UI and Animation development
