Summary

Join Centric Software as an AppSec (Application Security) Intern and gain real-world experience in application security. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related technical field
  • Understanding of application security principles, common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10), and secure software development practices
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C/C++
  • Knowledge of web security concepts, authentication protocols, and encryption standards
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail in security assessment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate technical findings clearly

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security vulnerabilities in applications and software systems
  • Conduct static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST) to assess potential risks
  • Support the development and enforcement of secure coding practices across engineering teams
  • Participate in threat modeling and security architecture reviews to enhance software security
  • Assist in automating security testing and monitoring through scripting and security tools
  • Investigate emerging threats and vulnerabilities to improve application security strategies
  • Work with engineering teams to provide guidance on security best practices and remediation strategies
  • Assist in security documentation, compliance tracking, and reporting for security assessments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) or DevSecOps practices
  • Familiarity with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security
  • Previous participation in capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions or security research is a plus
  • Certifications such as Security+, CEH, or OSCP (even if in progress) are beneficial
