Join Civis Analytics as an Applied Data Scientist, Analytics Engineer and contribute to solving challenging data and analytics problems for our clients in the public and non-profit sectors. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in an analytical subject (statistics, math, economics, physics, engineering, business, political or social science, computer science, etc.)
- At least 1 year of experience using dbt in a production environment
- Proven affinity for and experience working with large or messy data sets
- Strong SQL proficiency
- Experience with presentation or data visualization software, such as Google Slides, Microsoft PPT, Tableau, R Shiny, etc
- Familiarity with software development tools and practices (Git, code review, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- US work authorization
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust data models to unify large datasets and to create trusted data objects and workflows
- Build predictive models
- Derive clear, actionable, and timely insights from analyses
- Create client-ready materials and solutions for stakeholders of varying technical experience or familiarity with methods
- Work with cross-functional teams of data scientists, solution architects, product teams and engineers where necessary to create and implement solutions
- Creatively identify opportunities in the solution delivery process for scalable applications, and collaborate with other teams to further construct these tools
- Maintain a continuous and independent education of cutting-edge statistical techniques and programming languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical understanding of and experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and/or causal inference
- Experience with statistical programming languages (R, Python, etc.) and an understanding of how to apply statistical concepts
- All employees either must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, initiate vaccination before your start date, or file an exemption request prior to start date per company policy for review
