Requirements

  • Able to receive instructions on how to work in a safe manner recognising potential risk to oneself and one’s work colleagues
  • Able to work on your own but also as part of a team
  • To learn how to use a range of hand & power tools to undertake designated work task efficiently

Responsibilities

  • To learn how to identify the manufacturing requirements for task by assessing the Build & Quality requirements from any available sources e.g. works instructions/specifications, engineering drawings, etc
  • To learn how to select appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and fixings as required for work task
  • To ensure all tools & equipment selected are inspected prior to use
  • To learn how to operate tools, equipment & machinery in a safe & competent manner and to comply with any safety regulations
  • To learn how to fit & assemble a variety of components to different types of vehicle bodies & in a variety of situations
  • To work in a safe manner, using appropriate PPE as necessary
  • To ensure the work environment is maintained in a safe & tidy manner & to sweep work area daily
  • To report any injuries or near misses as soon as possible
  • To achieve required Quality standards
  • To report any material/components faults, breakages, or supply issues
  • To complete job cards and college work tasks as required
  • To follow all instructions and reasonable requests from work mentors and college tutors
