AP/Staff Accountant

Summary

Reporting to the Controller, you will manage accounts payable, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain financial records. You will process invoices, manage vendor relationships, and support the senior accountant with monthly and year-end close processes. Requirements

• 2+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
• Thorough knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
• Experience with bank reconciliation and cash management
• Advanced skills in Microsoft excel
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Experience with various accounting software administration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
• Proficient in QuickBooks
• CRM experience
• BS or BA degree in accounting (CPA track preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

• Manage and processing of accounts payable, including annual 1099 preparation
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliation schedules and prepare monthly close journal entries
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns through tax tracking software
• Assist with the preparation of regulatory reporting including annual and periodic program review audits
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Driving continual process improvement and system optimization
• Additional accounting duties as necessary
