Summary
The job is for an AR Waveguide Design Engineer in Seattle, WA, USA with a salary range of $150,000 to $350,000. The candidate must have experience with SRG: Surface Relief Grating and should possess a Master’s degree or above in related fields, at least 3 years of experience in diffraction optics design, proficiency in design software, a solid theoretical background in diffraction optics, strong coding, simulation, and optimization experience with MATLAB or Python, off-the-shelf experience of coding programs to simulate or optimize diffractive optics, and prior working experience in well-known AR waveguide design team is a big plus.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or above majored in optics, physics, electronics, semiconductors, and related fields
- More than 3 years of experience in diffraction optics design and geometric optics design
- Proficient in at least one of the design software’s: CodeV/Zemax/VirtualLab/Lighttools/Comsol/FDTD/other homebrew AR WG design software
- With a solid theoretical background in diffraction optics (such as electromagnetic field theory, waveguide optics theory, etc.)
- Strong coding, simulation, and optimization experience with MATLAB or Python
Responsibilities
- Responsible for evaluating technical specifications according to customer requirements
- Responsible for the design of diffraction waveguides in AR glasses, including modelling, simulation, optimization, validation, etc
- Collect industrial information, analyze the latest solutions
- Explore cutting-edge optical display technology and explore the solutions of optical waveguides with a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Off-the-shelf experience of coding programs to simulate or optimize diffractive optics is a big plus. You can be either a designer or design tools developer
- Prior working experience in well-known AR waveguide design team is a big plus
