Summary

ALTEN MÉXICO is seeking an Assembly Process Engineer Jr. to join their team, responsible for assisting in the industrialization of assembly processes, evaluating and validating product design alternatives, performing capacity analysis, planning and establishing sequences of operations, estimating costs, selecting material and equipment suppliers, defining material flow and handling, contributing to target cost, writing specification and qualification plans, managing production means realization at suppliers, driving qualification of means, participating in the ramp-up of production means, and demonstrating ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics
  • 0-2 years experience in manufacturing industry directly supporting assembly operations
  • Methods, maintenance or factory production support specialized in high volume OR Realization and development of specialized machines
  • 0-2 years experience industrialization of new products
  • Receiving new products into operations facility, OR Realization of industrial process in operations facility with new product
  • Application on Lean and Six Sigma techniques – Experience in Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Value Stream mapping, Kaizen events, Visual Workplace, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Participate with the Design function during the product design phase to guide Design for Assembly (DFA) based on your experiences in production support
  • Be a driving force in the choice of assembly technologies by informing projects about the limits and advantages of different technologies
  • Evaluate and validate product design alternatives to create optimal process designs by applying knowledge of product design, assembly, fixturing, and materials
  • Perform capacity analysis to determine production capacity and optimize process efficiency
  • Plan and establish the sequence of operations to manufacture and assemble parts or products, ensuring a logical and efficient sequence
  • Estimate costs associated with product design, development, and manufacturing, considering materials, labor, and other resources
  • Select material and equipment suppliers, evaluating capabilities, quality, and costs to ensure the procurement of suitable products
  • Define material flow and handling used to supply the process
  • Contribute to the target cost by providing product assembly time using systemic methods such as MTM analysis
  • Write specification and qualification plans for the means, tools, equipment, and production lines to produce the product
  • Manage the realization of production means at our suppliers (internal or external)
  • Drive the qualification of means (equipment and processes) at our suppliers and internal operation sites
  • Participate in the ramp-up of production means at the operation sites by leading training, industrial file definition, and assistance with material setup and flow
