Summary
Join BillionToOne, a leading molecular diagnostics company, as an Associate General Counsel to contribute to the development and implementation of legal and compliance policies, practices, and systems. You will provide legal advice and compliance guidance to various business partners, including the Oncology team, and advise on company contracts. This role requires a JD from a top law school, 10+ years of experience in a major law firm or in-house legal department, and experience in life science or healthcare organizations. Requirements
- JD from top law school and licensed to practice law in one or more US jurisdictions
- 10+ years of experience with a major law firm (100+ attorneys) and/or in-house legal department with experience working with life science or health care organizations
- Experience advising commercial leaders and colleagues on business strategies, product promotion, sales programs and transactions and other commercial initiatives
- Experience developing processes to comply with legal/regulatory requirements, drafting and implementing policies and procedures, and delivering employee training
- Experience in at least two of the following subject areas:Β commercial compliance, contract drafting and negotiation, litigation, and labor and employment matters
- Ability to be highly resourceful, adaptable, and nimble in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
- Strong team-player with willingness to roll-up sleeves and pitch in wherever needed
- Interest in learning new areas of law and business and proven ability to take on projects in unfamiliar areas and lead to completion
- Strong leadership skills, with ability to clearly communicate effective legal solutions to leadership and colleagues in a collaborative yet consultative way that meet business objectives yet appropriately mitigate risks
- Interest and aspirations in developing career as an in-house legal and compliance attorney, with aspirations of eventually becoming a general counsel in the future
Responsibilities
- Provide risk mitigation, legal advice and compliance guidance to multiple business partners in the Oncology area, including the Product, Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Market Access, Reimbursement, HR and Finance teams as needed
- Develop processes and infrastructure to ensure compliance with applicable external requirements, soliciting feedback from internal stakeholders, preparing and drafting policies/SOPs and overseeing implementation and training in a variety of areas
- Advise on company contracts, including drafting, negotiating, reviewing, interpreting, and managing strategic, high-value contracts
- Provide legal advice and support in other areas of the business, as needed
- Partner with legal team members to develop and build legal and compliance infrastructure and program for lab services/life science organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with some or all of the following
- Start-up, emerging high-growth company experience
- Molecular diagnostics/genetic company or CLIA lab
- Patient billing, reimbursement and payor relationships
