Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Fit-Outs

Summary

Join Canva's Space Creation Team as an Assistant Project Manager (APM) and contribute to delivering high-performance workplace construction projects. This 6-month, full-time contract role offers remote work flexibility from various locations. You will manage commercial fit-outs and new office spaces, reflecting Canva's brand and culture. The ideal candidate possesses experience in project coordination, contract administration, and construction project management within a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle. This role provides hands-on experience and opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic team.

Requirements

• Have experience in project coordination, contract administration, or assistant project management within the construction or commercial fit-out industry
• Have experience from client-side or contractor-side
• Have demonstrated ability to deliver projects in occupied workplace environments
• Have familiarity with construction contract frameworks including AS 4905, AS 4915, AS 4000
• Have proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and construction management platforms such as Procore and Aconex
• Have excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Have a proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Manage commercial fit-outs and new office spaces that reflect Canva’s unique brand and workplace culture
• Gain hands-on experience delivering high-impact workplace projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing design intent with operational needs
• Develop strong cross-functional collaboration skills by working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants across all stages of the project lifecycle
• Build deep knowledge of end-to-end project delivery, from feasibility and procurement through to construction, handover, and post-occupancy review
