Summary
Join Abercrombie & Fitch Co.'s Analytics Management team as a BI Engineer to develop and support BI solutions. Collaborate with engineering teams, business analysts, and partners to design and develop Snowflake Views and Power BI objects. Provide technical requirements for implementation, support existing BI tools during cloud migration, and communicate project updates. Work in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment, document best practices, and support end-users. Leverage your expertise in data management, DAX, and SQL to identify usage patterns for BI solutions. This role offers opportunities for innovation and challenges existing paradigms.
Requirements
- 1-3+ years of experience in a BI Engineering role, specifically Power BI
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred, or combination of education and experience
- Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience with retail industry, with focus on analytics, architecture and/or Business Intelligence
- Strong understanding of data management principles
- Experience designing and building BI Semantic layer models in an agile environment
- Hands-on experience with Cloud technologies and open source technologies
- Experience working with end users in a support style environment
- Experience with new system implementation and change management
- Demonstrated ability in developing a culture that embraces innovation, and challenges existing paradigms
- Knowledgeable in DAX and SQL
- Ability to identify usage scenarios and patterns for BI solutions
Responsibilities
- Team up with the engineering teams, Business Analysis project members, and business partners to design and develop new Snowflake Views and Power BI objects including Dashboards, Reporting, and Apps among others
- Provide technical requirements for implementation of Snowflake and Power BI objects
- Learn and support current on prem BI tools and processes while migrating to new Cloud tools
- Work with Project Management to communicate timely estimates, updates, project status, and lead communication to project participants
- Work in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment
- Document and establish standards for best practices
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with other BI reporting solutions such as OBIEE and Tableau
