Associate Counsel

Summary

Join Teachable's International Legal team as an International Jr. Legal Lawyer supporting US operations. You will report to the International Legal Manager and collaborate with professionals across EMEA and LATAM. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, handling consumer protection cases, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing legal advice. The role requires 2+ years of experience in a corporate legal setting, a JD or LLM, and excellent knowledge of corporate governance. While based remotely, you will occasionally travel within LATAM. Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with a company in the legal corporate area or law firm
• A JD or LLM
• Excellent knowledge of corporate governance with a flexible and practical approach to work
• Draft, review, analyze, and sign contracts and highly complex documents that create an obligatory link between the company and third parties, nationally and internationally
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate responsiveness to deliver legal services to support business operations and growth, and ability to create collaborative relationships with internal clients
• Own commercial: Draft and/or review commercial agreements, including partnership agreements and vendor agreements
• Instruct external counsel as required and ensure advice is appropriately captured and acted upon
• Provide support to the internal clients, and other local corporate committees to ensure the proper functioning of the United States Business Units
• Ensure all internal and external registration and record-keeping are successfully completed
• Occasionally travel within LATAM

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced Spanish and/or Portuguese
• Knowledge of taxation
• Experience working within SaaS platforms/companies
• Creator economy knowledge
• Experience in clients’ queries about terms of use and internal policies
