Requirements

  • Basic proficiency in Python and SQL (familiarity with Spark and DBT is a bonus)
  • Some experience with Cloud technologies (AWS is preferred but not mandatory)
  • Exposure to building data pipelines or working with data warehouses
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Introduction to Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms
  • Previous experience as either a data engineer or wanting to transition from a similar role such as data analyst, data analytics engineer or software engineering

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines to process data from various sources using AWS technologies
  • Participate in data quality improvements by implementing validation checks, monitoring data accuracy, and resolving any data inconsistencies in collaboration with senior engineers
  • Support the development and maintenance of data warehousing solutions, such as AWS Redshift or Databricks, ensuring alignment with business requirements
  • Collaborate with data analytic engineers, software engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to facilitate data availability and quality for model training and evaluation
  • Monitor data pipelines and queries, helping to identify and address performance issues under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Contribute to the setup and maintenance of monitoring and alerting systems to manage data infrastructure health
  • Help maintain documentation for data systems, processes, and workflows
