Summary

Join Encora as an Associate Principal Data Consultant and bridge the gap between technical teams and client stakeholders. You will define, design, and deliver impactful data-driven solutions, working closely with senior consultants and client leadership. This hybrid role blends technical execution with early-stage consulting leadership, offering the chance to own client deliverables while developing expertise in data systems. The position is remote, supporting EST hours, and is a 6-month project with a high likelihood of extension. You will lead small to mid-sized data projects, design modern data architectures, and build data pipelines. Mentorship of junior consultants and collaboration with cross-functional teams are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics consulting, or similar roles
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred)
  • Experience designing and building data pipelines and warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with clients and translate complex data challenges into clear deliverables
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data privacy best practices
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients to understand business needs, define data requirements, and translate them into actionable technical solutions
  • Lead small to mid-sized data projects or workstreams, including planning, execution, and delivery oversight
  • Design and implement modern data architectures including data lakes, warehouses, and pipeline frameworks
  • Conduct data assessments, develop roadmaps, and provide recommendations aligned with business goals
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using tools like dbt, Airflow, or cloud-native services
  • Create documentation, diagrams, and data catalogs to support solution design and client knowledge transfer
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior consultants and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing role
  • Exposure to data strategy, assessment, or data product development
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Tableau)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management practices
  • Interest or experience in machine learning workflows or MLOps is a plus
