Associate/Senior Associate

Summary

Join Curie.Bio as an Associate or Senior Associate and play a pivotal role in shaping investment decisions by collaborating with founders to translate scientific concepts into transformative therapeutic drug embodiments. You will gain hands-on experience in early-stage biotech venture building, from assessing therapeutic concepts and designing experimental plans to driving execution and fundraising. A key aspect involves supporting the efficient assessment of therapeutic company concepts, engaging with founders and advisors. You will work across various areas of Curie.Bio, gaining exposure to company creation and supporting founders throughout their journey. This role offers a career accelerator with end-to-end company creation experience and high-volume, hands-on learning. Curie.Bio operates as a flat organization, empowering you to maximize your impact by working across the portfolio and providing direct support to founders.

Requirements

• PhD or PhD/MD in biology, biochemistry, or a related life sciences field
• Exceptional ability and desire to build and cultivate relationships
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate a deep level of scientific understanding
• Demonstrated excellence in scientific research or innovation
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment (no job is too big or too small)
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results
• Highly immersed in the world of therapeutics – news, literature, companies, etc
• A love for big-picture thinking – traversing both science and business with agility

Responsibilities

• Support the efficient assessment of a broad range of therapeutic company concepts, identifying and advancing the most promising therapeutic opportunities
• Directly engage with Founders, external advisors, and the internal Curie.bio chessboard of experts
• Work across the different areas of Curie.Bio and stages of company-building, gaining exposure and hands-on experience in all aspects of company creation while supporting Founders throughout their Curie.Bio journey
• Discover new pools of founder talent and catalyze new company formation through educating the ecosystem on why Curie.Bio is the best place to start a therapeutics company
• Identify the next great wave of innovation in drug discovery that could lead to exciting new therapeutics and ultimately, better medicines for patients
• Be one of the first points of contact with Founders as you ensure that we have the required source material to perform diligence and that Founders have a high-quality experience throughout their journey with Curie.Bio
• Evaluate companies across a wide breadth of therapeutic areas and drug embodiment approaches, helping select the most promising companies to move forward with
• Support the Breakout Fund through the continued investment in Curie’s seed portfolio companies as they graduate to Series A, as well as sourcing and leading investments in exceptional external companies at the Series A stage (or later)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in business strategy, management consulting, large pharma, or in a biotech startup environment
• Experience in having to quickly develop a knowledge base in new areas of science
