Back End Software Engineer I

Summary

Join Abnormal Security as a software engineer on the Email Productivity (EPR) team and contribute to developing robust features, participating in on-call rotations, and communicating effectively with the team.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
• 1+ years of experience as a backend engineer, developing web applications
• At least one Software Engineering internship experience in the industry
• Experience working individually as well as in groups on a regular basis, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
• Experience participating in hackathons, innovation challenges or building out personal projects

Responsibilities

• Work with other software engineers in the team to develop robust and scalable features
• Assume ownership of the reliability of the features you develop, including comprehensive unit tests and rigorous integration testing
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide technical support to effectively troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
• Communicate effectively with the team in an async manner. Display a strong sense of initiative and ownership in providing updates, discussing challenges and proposing solutions without prompting
