Backend Developer

Summary

Join our remote-first product company developing a CRM for the healthcare sector, used by major clinics in Europe and Latin America. As a mid-seniority backend developer (PHP or Java), you will contribute to a mature monolith's evolution toward a more modular and scalable architecture. You will write and improve product features, provide advanced support, and actively participate in the team's technical growth. We offer full remote work or the option to work from our Bologna or Barcelona offices. The role involves working on a complex product and offers opportunities for technical growth and stock options.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience in backend development (PHP or Java)
• Knowledge and willingness to work on legacy/monolithic code
• Solid SQL (MySQL) foundations
• Experience with code testing, TDD, SOLID principles
• Advanced knowledge of the Italian language (C1)

Responsibilities

• Write and improve new product features (40%)
• Handle advanced support, addressing real and functional bugs (40%)
• Actively participate in the team's technical growth: refactoring, continuous comparison, sharing best practices (20%)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Experience with profiling and optimization tools
• Knowledge of PHP/Java frameworks (Symfony, Laravel, Spring...)
• Familiarity with stacks like Redis, AWS, Kubernetes, ELK
• English B1 or higher
