Backend Engineer

Summary

Join Grafana Labs' Platform Productivity squad as a Backend Engineer and contribute to the development and maintenance of our Internal Engineering Platform (IEP). You will play a key role in improving and extending our CI/CD platform, build, release, and deployment automation, and application configuration management tooling. Collaborate with diverse internal teams to support their requirements and participate in on-call rotations. We are looking for a flexible software engineer with experience in operating code, Kubernetes, and Docker, and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code. The role offers opportunities for growth and development within a remote-first company.

Requirements

• Engineering/software development experience within a Platform group delivering services to internal engineering teams
• Experience working in a cloud environment
• Experience operating your code
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker

Responsibilities

• Help maintain, improve and extend the existing Internal Engineering Platform (IEP)
• Participate in choosing what to focus on next and when/how to sunset systems
• Help design, compare, and choose appropriate solutions for the IEP
• Development and maintenance of our Internal Engineering Platform (IEP)
• CI/CD platform management and development
• Build, release and deployment automation
• Application configuration management tooling
• ���Up to date” software automation
• Artefact management
• Work with diverse internal teams to support implementation of their requirements
• Be part of an on-call rotation to support Platform tooling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Crossplane
• Familiarity with Kubernetes administration - experience with Tanka
• Experience/Interest in implementing, integrating, and maintaining observability systems and processes
