Remote Backend Engineer

Summary

Holycode is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to work full-time on the Foratable project in their Belgrade office. The candidate will create new features, maintain and improve existing functionality, write tests, and collaborate with other teams. Foratable is a revolutionary reservation system developed by Lunchgate AG.

Requirements

• Masters degree in software engineering (or related field)
• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• Good knowledge about data structures, algorithms and data types
• Proficient in both written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Build new features with the product team
• Maintain and improve existing functionality
• Write unit tests and functional tests for added functionality
• Support the design and implementation of architectural principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with service oriented architectures and event sourcing is a plus
• Experience in a functional programming language (e.g. Haskell, Scala) or Rust is a plus
• Experience in modern PHP (8.3) and Symfony is a plus
