Backend Software Engineer

Summary

Join Canva's Product Insights Enablement team and help redefine how the world experiences design. This role focuses on designing, prototyping, and implementing systems to manage features, collaborating with various teams for seamless integration, and partnering with platform teams to ensure accurate data representation. You will lead reviews and create pathways to improve Canva's overall quality. Requirements

• Have commercial experience in a software development environment
• Have extensive experience with Java, distributed systems and relational databases
• Be able to write performant, reusable code, including appropriate testing
• Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively
• Have good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and implement systems to manage features via CRUD-like operations, which are then made available in the data warehouse
• Collaborate with teams across the group to ensure our new service integrates smoothly with existing services used by the platform
• Partner with platform teams to ensure their insights are accurately represented and displayed in our platform
• Lead reviews and create pathways that help teams improve the overall quality of Canva over time

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience working with AWS
• Have a background in data analytics and/or product measurements
• Have experience in full-stack development
