Summary
Join Wellhub's Fraud & Prevention team in Brazil as a Backend Software Engineer. Collaborate with a cross-functional team to build and implement fraud prevention technologies. Build production systems to prevent fraud, prototype and productionize new solutions, and ensure high code quality. Resolve incidents and troubleshoot production environments. Promote a supportive work environment focused on wellbeing and work-life balance. Prior backend development and microservices experience are mandatory.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Proactive learner eager to master new technologies and resolve challenging technical issues
- Experience in developing RESTful web services
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL technology (such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB), understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls
- Experience applying computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
- Experience with microservices
- You have exceptional communication skills that enable you to work effectively with diverse teams located across different countries
- Advanced English skills and can clearly articulate ideas when speaking to groups in English
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a cross functional team spanning operation, product management, and engineering to build new technologies and features
- Build production systems that prevent fraud from happening
- Help to prototype, implement and productionize new fraud solutions at scale
- Ensure successful deliveries, and promote the long-term technical health of our journeys
- Ensure a high bar on code quality standards, making sure devs are proud of their work
- Apply development best practices
- Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in the production environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Nice to have experience with Golang (experience with Java or Kotlin would also be nice to have)
- Nice to have experience dealing with event-driven architectures and message brokers (such as KAFKA, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, etc.) understanding of their use cases and pitfalls
- Experience with Cloud-based architectures (AWS experience is nice to have)
