Summary

Join Oasis, a leader in privacy-enabled decentralized finance and responsible data economy, as a Backend Software Engineer - Core Services. You will design and implement backend services, APIs, and developer-facing tools supporting internal teams and the broader ecosystem. Responsibilities include large-scale data processing, blockchain indexing, and ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems. This hands-on role offers deep ownership and the opportunity to shape the technical foundations of a growing Web3 platform. You will collaborate with internal and external teams, contributing to open-source projects and improving team workflows. Requirements

  • Strong experience writing production-quality backend systems on blockchain/web3/privacy projects
  • Proficiency in working with SQL databases , including knowledge of indexing, performance tuning, and schema migrations
  • Experience in designing and deploying scalable backend services , with a solid understanding of containers (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes)
  • A generalist mindset β€” you’re comfortable jumping between systems, from infrastructure to application-level logic
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving priorities

Responsibilities

  • Core Backend Development - Design, build, and maintain backend services that support developers, users, and other Oasis infrastructure. Build scalable APIs and applications around Oasis runtimes
  • Data & Indexing Systems - Work with SQL databases, handling large-scale datasets such as blockchain indexing and analytics. Optimize performance through indexing strategies, tuning, and efficient data models
  • Deployment & Infrastructure - Develop and deploy services into production environments using containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Contribute to DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines as needed
  • Open Source Collaboration & Reviews - Collaborate with other contributors and the broader open-source community through pull requests, code reviews, and technical discussions
  • Internal Tooling & Engineering Practices - Help improve team workflows, internal tooling, and engineering culture.Advocate for best practices across the engineering org
  • Cross-functional Collaboration - Work closely with product, BD, and ecosystem teams to support integration with partners and community tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects
  • Production experience using Go language
  • Understanding of blockchain runtimes or privacy-preserving technologies such as TEE’s
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and consensus mechanisms
  • Familiarity with Ethereum , Solidity , and EVM-based ecosystems
  • Experience with blockchain data indexing (especially on Ethereum or similar chains)
