Requirements
- Relevant degree-level or equivalent qualifications in fashion & accessories or similar design degree
- 6+ years of industry experience in bag design, accessories
- A clear understanding of design for manufacturing
- Strong design presentation skills
- Strong technical understanding of materials and fabrication techniques used within consumer and industrial product manufacturing
- Commercially aware of brands in the sector
- Detail and results-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of creating and maintaining technical specifications
- Software: solid proficiency in Adobe creative suite
- Detailed experience using 2D&3D software
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the design process from brief to final factory sample, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
- Develop strong conceptual designs, incorporating colour, material, and finish (CMF) expertise to create refined luxury products
- Conduct in-depth design research and trend analysis to inform new collections and maintain a forward-thinking approach
- Create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and 2D/3D visuals using Adobe Creative Suite and other digital design tools (Clo3D & procreate is a bonus)
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding of materials, bag construction, and manufacturing techniques, optimising designs for production
- Work closely with factories and suppliers, providing precise technical specifications and supporting visual documents to ensure accuracy in execution
- Maintain a strong knowledge of industry testing standards, ensuring products meet durability, and performance requirements
- Conduct material research, prototype testing, and product validation to refine designs before production
- Collaborate with the wider team to ensure all designs align with Carl Friedrik’s luxury aesthetic and functional requirements
- Stay informed on industry trends, new materials, and emerging manufacturing technologies to drive innovation in bag and accessories design
