Bare Metal Automation Engineer

Summary

Join Vultr's Engineering team as a Bare Metal Automation Engineer and contribute to our global expansion. You will automate server build-outs, system lifecycle management, and provisioning workflows. Collaborate with data center teams and vendors to ensure reliable infrastructure. Build and maintain test automation for fast and reliable provisioning. This role requires hands-on experience with high-performance GPUs, networking, bare metal internals, and various programming languages. Requirements

• Hands-on experience working with current, high-performance GPUs and networking
• Experience working with and automating bare metal internals including BIOS, BMC, firmware, NICs, Redfish/IPMI, PCIe
• Experience with Linux, package management, and device drivers
• Experience with commercial firmware
• Experience with Python, Bash, and PHP

Responsibilities

• Automate the validation and build-out of new and existing server BOMs
• Automate system lifecycle management such as firmware updates, and config management
• Work with our DC teams to build out new sites to expand infrastructure globally
• Ensure excellent customer experience by providing consistent and reliable provisioning workflows
• Build and maintain test automation to ensure fast and reliable provisioning
• Working with vendors to get all supported drivers and packages
• Working with vendors on any bugs, performance-related issues, hardware problems, and reference architectures
• Address any hardware or performance issues promptly, coordinating with vendors, technical support, onsite technicians, and internal teams as required
