Summary

Join ARC Group as a Hadoop Developer in a fully remote position, initially a contract role through June 2026 with potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment. Requirements

• Have a computer software background and a degree in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or mathematics
• Have experience and understanding with unit testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures
• Be proficient using versioning tools
• Have thorough knowledge of Information Technology fields and computer systems
• Demonstrate organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Be a flexible team player
• Manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
• Demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills
• Communicate technical information clearly and articulately

• Have in-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle
• Be proficient programming in more than one object-oriented programming language
• Be proficient using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio
• Be proficient using debugging tools
• Have high critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
• Have 5+ years related work experience, Professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry
• Have 3+ years of Spark and Scala professional experience in a Lead Developer role (design & scaling technology)
• Have strong cross-collaboration with different departments/teams
• Have Apache/Kafka & DB2 experience
• Have experience with Hybrid cloud platforms ( OpenShift )
• Have a related Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
