Bilingual Paralegal

Summary

The job is for a paralegal position at a litigation law firm in the US, focusing on personal injury and criminal cases. The role involves managing cases, filing and e-filing, discovery, drafting legal documents, client communication, and using legal software like Clio, LexisNexis, MyCase.

Requirements

• Experience in criminal law is a must
• Experience in personal injury is a plus
• Fluent in advanced American English, written and oral
• Have a Bachelor's degree in Law or/and a Juris Doctor degree
• Experience in conducting legal intakes, managing calendars, and scheduling appointments
• Have experience working as a paralegal to a law firm for 2+ years
• Have experience in legal research, case discovery, and legal writing
• Experience using legal software like Clio, LexisNexis, MyCase
• Have excellent personal presentation and telephone manner

Responsibilities

• Manage cases through all stages of litigation, up to and including mediation, settlement, and trial
• Manage attorney calendar, calendaring deadlines, statutes, coordinating and scheduling depositions, mediations, hearings, and other appearances
• Have experience in propounding and responding to discovery
• Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, memoranda, notices, and other legal documents
• Document all actions related to case activity in a case management database
• Provide excellent customer service while speaking to clients, including frequent verbal and written case-related updates
• Provide accurate translation between attorney and clients
