Summary
Join Aequilibrium's growing team as a part-time or full-time Bilingual QA VR Specialist for a 2-month contract starting in February 2025. You will thoroughly test VR experiences built in Unity, identifying and addressing issues to ensure a seamless user experience. Fluency in English and French is crucial for communication and documentation. Collaboration with developers, designers, and artists is key to meeting quality benchmarks. This role focuses on creating immersive educational programs for universities using VR technology. The position is 100% remote, but candidates must be based in Canada with Canadian Citizenship or PR. Some regional travel may be required.
Requirements
- Be fluent in both English and French (verbal and written), with strong communication skills
- Have 3+ years of experience in QA testing, with a focus on VR/AR applications
- Possess a solid understanding of Unity3D and VR development, with a familiarity with platforms like Meta Quest 3 and Igloo Vision
- Have experience with testing VR interactions, user interfaces, rendering, and audio elements
- Be knowledgeable about Agile development processes, capable of adapting to changing requirements
- Be skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks and troubleshooting complex technical issues across multiple VR platforms
- Be detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have familiarity with bug tracking software and version control systems (PlasticSCM, Unity Collab, Git)
- Be based in Canada and have Canadian Citizenship or PR
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and evaluate VR educational environments, ensuring they align with design goals and technical standards
- Conduct comprehensive functionality, performance, and compatibility tests on various VR platforms, including Igloo Vision and Meta Quest 3
- Report and document bugs, issues, and areas for improvement in a detailed and structured way
- Suggest and implement best practices for QA processes, ensuring smooth development and optimization of VR projects
- Verify the correct integration of UI, animations, physics, and other components to ensure a polished and cohesive user experience
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to improve functionality, usability, and overall user experience
- Communicate test results, feedback, and recommendations in both English and French
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience with educational software or content creation
- Have a background in VR performance optimization, specifically for educational contexts
- Have experience providing QA insights to development teams, offering actionable recommendations
- Have familiarity with Unity’s render pipelines, shaders, and external plugin integrations
- Have an understanding of CI/CD processes and automated testing tools
