Summary

Join Pacify as a certified doula to provide virtual and in-person support to pregnant and new parents. As an independent contractor, you'll be part of a supportive environment that values kindness and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical, emotional and informational support to pregnant and birthing people, birth partners and families during pregnancy, labor and birth
• Commit to ongoing continuing education to maintain your doula certification
• Provide evidence-based information and resources
• Empower parents to make informed decisions, facilitate communication with healthcare providers and encourage shared decision making
• Encourage self-efficacy
• Provide advocacy, but do not speak for pregnant and birthing people
• Provide support, but do not take agency away from pregnant and birthing people
• Provide recommendations, but do not give medical advice
• Refer all callers back to local healthcare providers for all medical questions and concerns
• Follow Pacify’s Policies and Procedures, including the Code of Conduct
• Provide virtual prenatal and postpartum visits and provide labor support (where available)
• Assist clients in creating a birth plan or wish list
• Offer comfort measures, pain management techniques and relaxation strategies during labor. Advocate for the client's needs and preferences while understanding your scope of care
• Provide evidence-based education to parents on pregnancy, labor and birth, newborn care, breastfeeding and the postpartum period
• Create detailed and accurate records, according to Pacify’s policies and procedures, of client interactions by completing charts after each visit
• Stay current with the latest research in the field of childbirth and postpartum support
• Respond to all emails sent from the Clinical Team, when requested
• Follow all Pacify Doula Policy and Procedures, including the Code of Conduct, on all Pacify calls/visits
• Complete yearly requirements training for HIPAA, Fraud, Waste and Abuse, Security Awareness, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
• Attend required quarterly meetings as scheduled
