No patient care is involved; the role focuses solely on advisory opinions.
Requirements
- Possess a valid medical license in any U.S. state
- Be Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery
- Board certification and active practice are mandatory for this position
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly review and assess medical records connected to thoracic surgery claims
- Provide expert evaluations of functional limitations arising from thoracic conditions
- Ensure that all reviews are complete, clear, and supported by adequate medical evidence
- Adhere to client-specific guidelines and recognized standards of care
- Return evaluations within the designated timeframes
- Conduct follow-up communications as necessary for individual cases
- Maintain current medical licensure and credentials
- Participate in required training and orientation programs
