Summary

Join the Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) Board of Directors and play a pivotal role in expanding access to education for underserved communities. As a Board Member, you will provide strategic leadership, financial oversight, and governance. A key responsibility is fundraising, aiming to contribute or help raise $50,000–$100,000 annually through donor engagement and corporate sponsorships. This volunteer position (5–10 hours per quarter) is ideal for accomplished professionals with strong philanthropic networks and corporate relationships. You will leverage your expertise and connections to secure major donor support and contribute to TEEI's growth strategy. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in global education while enhancing your professional network and influence.

Requirements

  • A strong commitment to education, workforce development, and nonprofit leadership
  • Experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, or major donor relations
  • A well-established professional network in corporate philanthropy, foundations, or high-net-worth donor circles
  • The ability to dedicate 5–10 hours per quarter to board meetings, committee work, and fundraising efforts

Responsibilities

  • Leverage your network to secure corporate sponsorships, major donor contributions, and philanthropic funding
  • Facilitate introductions to high-net-worth individuals and corporate leaders who align with TEEI’s mission
  • Support the organization in meeting its annual fundraising goals ($50,000–$100,000 per board member)
  • Provide input on TEEI’s U.S. expansion, financial sustainability, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to nonprofit governance standards, financial oversight, and legal compliance
  • Participate in at least one board committee (e.g., Fundraising, Governance, Finance)
  • Cultivate relationships with corporate partners, philanthropists, and educational institutions to expand TEEI’s reach
  • Represent TEEI at industry events, networking opportunities, and public engagements
  • Serve as an advocate for education, workforce development, and nonprofit leadership
  • Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person) and actively participate in organizational initiatives
  • Provide mentorship and strategic counsel to TEEI’s leadership team

Preferred Qualifications

  • A background in finance, law, technology, AI, education, or social impact
  • Prior experience serving on a nonprofit board
