Summary

Join ALTEN Mexico as a Body D&R Engineer and contribute to the design, development, and production release of automotive body components and systems. You will collaborate with various teams and suppliers, ensuring the successful integration of components from initial concept to full-scale production. Responsibilities include feasibility studies, quality improvements, cost reduction, and communication of technical status. You will utilize CAD tools like NX Teamcenter, and possess expertise in high-strength steel and aluminum forming processes. The role requires experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and BOM creation. Additional skills in DFSS and CAE/CFD are beneficial.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and developing on the following: --->Body in White, Closures, or Exterior Systems
  • CAD experience with Unigraphics NX, Catia V5 and Teamcenter in a production release environment BIW (Body in White)
  • Knowledgeable regarding high strength steels/ aluminum forming processes, weld parameters and GD&T
  • Experience/knowledge with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and validation plans
  • Bom’s creation and edition
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • The Body D&R Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing and production release for some of the following functions: Body-in-white / Body closure sheet metal and hinging / Fascia/bumper / Underbody shield and Wheel liners / Cladding & flares / Body exterior (moldings, badges, decals and vents) / Front Lighting / EE & Signal Lighting / Fixed Glass/ Wipers /Fuel Door components /systems from initial design concept through full volume production
  • Responsibilities will include interface and coordinating the packaging with product design office, vehicle development, other Exterior and Body Engineering teams, all adjacent departments (electromechanical, electrical, lighting, trim); and suppliers to design, develop and release these components/systems
  • The Engineer will provide feasibility input for development of designs from Product Design Office (PDO) concepts, sketches, and clay models
  • Other responsibilities will include quality improvements, weight reduction, cost reduction and other efficiency improvement initiatives including communicating technical product status to management
  • To develop functional objectives, build objectives, DVP&R / DFMEA & manage the production supplier to meet all requirements
  • Also responsible of the release of completed geometry using NX Teamcenter CAD tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Green/Black Belt is a plus
  • CAE/Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) knowledge
  • CATIA V5 knowledge is a plus
