Join Canva's 12-week, remote-friendly internship program, running from early December to late February, and gain valuable experience working on real-life projects. As a Brand Designer Intern, you'll be involved in designing creative assets for new product launches, developing design guidelines, creating diverse content, and collaborating with a team of creatives to bring brand campaigns to life. This internship is ideal for students based in Australia or New Zealand who are passionate about design, have a strong portfolio, and are eager to learn about digital strategies and web-based methodologies.
Requirements
- You are currently enrolled and completing your studies between 2026 and mid-2027
- You are based in Australia or New Zealand and have working rights
- You are ready to present a portfolio of personal projects and case studies from inside or outside the classroom showcasing brand design principles and craft, a modern style & aesthetic, creative thinking and attention to detail
- You enjoy collaborative working environments and idea exchanges
- You have the ability to receive constructive feedback on work
- You are a great problem solver able to clearly articulate your ideas
- Youโre interested in learning about digital strategies and web-based methodologies, because your work will help define the future of Canvaโs brand
- Youโre a great team player, open to collaboration and active contribution to brainstorming sessions
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Invision and Canva
- Good organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- You are excited to explore AI tools and use them in smart, helpful ways to boost your workflow
- You are able to commit to the 12-week, full-time summer program from early December 2025 to late February 2026
Responsibilities
- Designing creative assets to support new product launches, landing pages, internal communications projects, and a wide range of other communication outputs
- Developing design guidelines and toolkits for high-priority brand campaigns
- Creating and building a diverse range of content (digital and motion) that brings Canva to life in exciting creative executions
- Collaborating with a team of writers, designers, art directors, animators, videographers, and marketers to bring our brand campaigns to life in unique and unforgettable ways
- Familiarising yourself with the performance of your work and learn for future executions
