Summary

Join Larson Design Group as an Engineer and become a technical leader. This role requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license and relevant experience. You will coordinate design activities, project submissions, and ensure quality control. Preferred locations include Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona; however, remote options are available. The position involves preparing designs, reviewing submittals, completing inspections, and applying regulations to projects. A strong background in transportation-related bridge or highway design is preferred.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited school, or related field of study
  • Have a minimum of (5) years job-related experience
  • Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Have thorough knowledge of the design and development process of transportation bridge or highway projects and knowledge of AASHTO and Design Manuals, Standards, Specifications, Engineering Software, and Microstation
  • Understand and be able to prepare bridge or highway design, bridge construction plans, and specifications, including special provisions, and other related project documents

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review design computations, plan designs, and drawings
  • Review submittals and coordinate project submissions
  • Prepare and review specifications, draft letters, and written technical reports
  • Complete inspections and field work assignments as needed
  • Research, review, interpret, and understand written regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and apply them to design projects
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of work and project records
  • Possess knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to project designs
  • Develop technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings
  • Promote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions
  • Perform work within assigned budgets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, InRoads (Surfaces and Templates), and other related software programs
  • Have a strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Possess strong oral & written communication skills, and have strong organizational & time management skills
  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a project team
  • Have transportation-related bridge or highway design experience
