Summary

Join Asimov's fast-growing Commercial team as a Business Development Associate, contributing to the advancement of mammalian synthetic biology. This role, based in the Mid-Atlantic or Southwest U.S., focuses on strategic territory growth within the biopharma ecosystem. You will support revenue growth by identifying and qualifying new opportunities, building a sales funnel, assisting in proposal development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and representing Asimov at industry events. Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles within the life sciences or biotech tools/services sector
  • Familiarity with biomanufacturing and CMC functions, including cell line development, process development, or viral vector production
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • A team player mindset with a desire to learn, grow, and take ownership over time
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA, MS) are a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support revenue growth by identifying and qualifying new opportunities with biopharma companies—primarily startups, growth-stage firms, and emerging commercial players
  • Building and maintaining a healthy sales funnel, including lead generation, outbound outreach, and early-stage relationship development
  • Assist in proposal development and deal structuring, while supporting client communications throughout the business development process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, legal, and operations, to align on partner needs, timelines, and deliverables
  • Represent Asimov at industry events, webinars, and partnering meetings to increase visibility and build relationships
  • Ensure CRM accuracy, track key sales metrics, and support internal reporting and process improvement initiatives
