Summary

Join a Fortune Top 10 company as a remote C++ Software Engineer for a 6-month contract with the potential for extension up to 2 years. This role involves applying computer science principles to design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems. You will work directly with the client and need 10+ years of experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong C++ skills, experience in cloud services, and a background in relevant industries (e.g., Meta, Google). This is a direct client engagement.

Requirements

• Possess relevant industry experience, preferably past employment at Meta, Google, etc
• Ability to code, given a new problem, ask questions, and write decent code, and debug it (preferably in C++)
• Demonstrate interest and experience working in cloud services stack space
• Have 10+ years of experience
• Possess verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
• Possess a strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time
• Possess strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
• Possess strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
• Possess a strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
• Possess strong knowledge of computer hardware and software
• Possess knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc
• Have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field
• Proficiency in C++

Responsibilities

• Review and approve the modification of existing databases and database management systems
• Instruct staff to write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system
• Direct database development and approve project scope and limitations
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure
• Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems
• Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information
