As a CAE Analyst, you'll build FEA models, conduct CAE analysis, and recommend design solutions while working with commercial software and collaborating with customers.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • University coursework must have included: Building FEA models, reviewing and interpreting analysis results; analyzing the durability of a structure using FEA models; Python programming; correlating FEA to tests using Digital Image Correlation; and developing material models for composite materials

Responsibilities

  • Building FEA models for various applications in automotive and industrial segments using commercial software (Altair HyperWorks, ANSA, LS-DYNA3D, Abaqus, Nastran)
  • Conducting CAE analysis under the guidance of a lead engineer or supervisor using CAE tools
  • Supporting analysis with sound engineering explanation and hand calculations
  • Reviewing results with the lead engineer or supervisor and share with customer
  • Recommending alternative analysis approaches and design solutions to meet the functional targets
  • Interfacing with customer to complete tasks with a high level of quality while meeting timelines
  • Connecting simulation with practical aspects of Cost/Weight/Investment (CWI), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA)
  • Maintaining pertinent information in assigned location and perform data cleanup
  • Providing design solutions for mechanical systems based on fundamental principles in NVH, durability and crash domains
  • Applying different computer-aided engineering software packages such as nCode, Optistruct
  • Programing using Python to expedite pre-processing of model build and post-processing of FEA results
